FASTBRACES® is a special orthodontic technology that moves the roots of your teeth towards their final positions from the onset of your treatment, speeding up your treatment and reducing the length of time you spend wearing braces from years to months, and in some cases even weeks! The average treatment time for FASTBRACES is one year.
How FASTBRACES Work
FASTBRACES rely on a patented triangular bracket design, a special, heat-activated wire, and advanced orthodontic techniques to begin moving your teeth and roots simultaneously rather than in separate stages like traditional braces. This treatment option is available in both metal and ceramic brackets. Our dentist will evaluate your mouth and discuss your smile goals with you to determine if FASTBRACES is a good option for you.

Caring for FASTBRACES During Treatment
Oral Hygiene Instructions:
- Prepare to brush. Take off elastics and any other removable parts of your orthodontic appliance.
- Brush for a minimum of two minutes (brush the tops and bottoms of the brackets and along the gumline to remove plaque).
- Floss at least once daily. Floss threaders are used during this process.
- Rinse mouth. Use a fluoride rinse before bed to help prevent cavities.
- Proxy brushes are a great tool to use to clean around the wire and brackets.
- If instructed to wear elastics, place them back in and only remove when eating or brushing. Not wearing elastics as directed will result in longer treatment time.
Foods to Avoid With Braces
- Chewy foods: bagels, hard rolls, licorice
- Crunchy foods: popcorn, ice
- Sticky foods: caramel, gum
- Hard foods: nuts, hard pretzels
- Sugary food: candy
- Foods you have to bite into: corn on the cob, apples, carrots (cut into smaller pieces first if you want to eat these)
What to Expect with FASTBRACES
- Moderate soreness the first few days following your appointment (take acetaminophen as needed for discomfort).
- Teeth may feel mobile or spongy.
- Insides of mouth may become irritated or rough feeling. If you have any sores/cuts from the brackets, swish with peroxyl and warm salt water. Wax can also be used over brackets for comfort.
Contact Us:
- If you have a wire poking or coming out of the slot
- If a bracket is loose
- If the colored ring comes off

FAQs About FASTBRACES
What is FASTBRACES?
FASTBRACES is an orthodontic system designed to move the crown and root of the tooth at the same time. Our dentist may recommend FASTBRACES for patients who want to improve alignment with an approach that may shorten treatment time in some cases.
How is FASTBRACES different from traditional braces?
FASTBRACES uses a different bracket and wire design than traditional braces. This system is intended to begin moving the entire tooth earlier in treatment. Our dentist can explain whether FASTBRACES may be a suitable option for your orthodontic needs.
Who is a candidate for FASTBRACES?
Some teens and adults with crowding, spacing, or mild to moderate alignment concerns may be candidates for FASTBRACES. Our dentist will evaluate your teeth, bite, and treatment goals to determine whether this system is appropriate for your smile.
What are the benefits of FASTBRACES?
FASTBRACES may help improve tooth alignment efficiently while creating a straighter, healthier-looking smile. Our dentist may recommend this option for patients seeking effective orthodontic treatment with a system designed for simultaneous crown and root movement.
